Wellink Machinetechniek in Groenlo, the Netherlands, is one of Europe’s leading producers of professional wood chippers for the making of bio mass, marketed under the brand name Dutch Dragon. Wellink have created an easy to use control system based on the CrossTalk generic control system platform from CC Systems.
System high-lights: Versatile simplicity
CC Pilot XS with its versatile interfaces was ideal in selecting the master unit for the machine control system of the Dutch Dragon. The graphical HMI and the touch screen enables the user of the wood chipper to control the machine via tapping buttons, reading indicators and accessing process information needed for the process control. CC Pilot XS has dual CAN interfaces which enables Wellink to integrate the SAE J1939 network for engine control and the CANopen network for machine control. The CrossFire FX1 controller and I/O-module is used as an I/O-slave in the CANopen network for machine control functions such as working hydraulics and all switching operations on the machine. The control software is developed in CoDeSys and runs on a soft PLC on the CC Pilot XS. This software platform enables Wellink to easily develop and adopt the functionality in the Dutch Dragon control system. |
